Create Internal IP object for public IP addresses
Monitoring traffic to good-known public IP addresses can be cumbersome and unnecessary. In Xshield, you can create an Internal IP object of such IP addresses by their IP subnets and ranges. The IP object is treated as private managed and traffic for the subnets and IPs is displayed in the Private Managed group in Visualizer. Also, the INTERNET TRAFFIC and OBSERVED TRAFFIC widgets on the Dashboard page do not factor in traffic associated with Internal IP.
Prerequisites
The public IP subnets and ranges that you plan to add as Internal IP must not be part of existing Xshield Network groups. Also, ensure that do not create Private Network groups that include subnets and ranges added to the Internal IP.
Create Internal IP
All subnets with which traffic is observed are available for selection. You can also add subnets and ranges to which traffic has not been observed yet.
-
Go to Settings > Internal IP.
-
Click Add Subnet and add one or more IP subnets.
-
Click Add IP Range and add one or more IP ranges.
-
Click Save.
Edit Internal IP
Adding or removing Public IP subnets and ranges is dynamic. As long as the new additions are not part of any Network groups, you will immediately see traffic for the subnets and IP ranges in the Private Managed group.
